They say everyone comes to prison
All of a sudden they become an artist
And all Holy and Christian
So What! I say to that So What!
What better use of time is there
When the majority get to go back out there.
So I speak for mySelf when I say
There’s No Way in hell I made it this far without God And so if I may I’ve been cheated, and lied to and robbed.
So laugh at me – slap me
And ridicule me all you want
He’s been my greatest comfort ever I’ve owned my faults
That’s why I’m still His Standing Beloved Treasure.
I’ve been in prison now for thirty years
And I’m still facing – another thirty years From day one – No One
Ever asked me: What happened to you?
Or What’s your story?
I can’t take back what I did I can only learn to live with it
And confess to God as my Glory
That He didn’t bring me this far for me to stop today
To leave this earth today
Without you hearing me say: I didn’t just wake up one day
And decide to become a monster
I didn’t just wake up one day
And decide to throw my whole life away
You just don’t go throwing some dream job out some window
Coming out of Brooklyn, East New York
But I did And I lost out on holding down the fort.
Bethatso, life is short
Let us not spend it on human desires
Or attachments of all sorts
Yet on the Will of the Lord Embrace your ego
Carry Your Cross
Let the Holy Spirit crucify your flesh
Heal Your Soul and Change the World.
May My Melody Reach All
and All Boys and Girls.
