Jacob Anders -

My name is Jacob Anders, I’ve been incarcerated for 1 year, with 3.5 years remaining. I am a less than perfect father to my daughter Serenity, and partner to my girlfriend Laila – both of whom equally remind me through their support and love what it is to be strong, consistent, and selfless.

you find me here because I’d like to try my hand at helping push forward transparent insights into incarceration, challenging truths about my own experiences within prison, and my journey being a repeat offender, and many other topics as i live and experience life behind bars in real time.

I, in no way intend, nor want my willingness and eagerness to reach out and raise awareness to the life and culture within prison to over shadow the choices and actions I made to make it here. I can never undo the pain and damage I caused in my community and family.

you can expect blog entries from me a least once per month, but I may write more than that so just make sure you tune in! I am also open to healthy and constructive conversations! so if you’re willing to hold meaningful interactions than I welcome you to reach out with your questions and challenging opinions. I am in a relationship so please respect that when/if deciding to reach out – strictly pen-pal intentions.

To Serenity and Laila, I love and thank you for your unwavering support and stance by my side even though I have not earned it. I don’t know how I would be able to go through this without you both.
